Apple’s bigger iPad Pro with Magic Keyboard weighs more than a MacBook Air

Apple recently announced a new Magic Keyboard with a trackpad for the iPad Pro last month, but Apple not yet revealed the weight of its brand new iPad that’s now available to its customers. but now we finally have an answer to it as new sources reveal its poster, who received a Magic Keyboard over the weekend. The brand new 12.9-inch iPad Pro and Magic Keyboard weigh in at 3 pounds (about 1362 grams), more than the 2.8 pounds (1290 grams) of the new 13-inch MacBook Air.

More of the bulkier for the new Magic Keyboard in the iPad Pro is to allow the viewing angles and stabilize weight. Although Apple didn’t originally design the iPad with keyboard and trackpad support as key features, so Apple had to add them in the later stage of the process.

However, it is not all that surprising that the new Magic Keyboard adds some substantial weight and bulk to the iPad Pro, though. Unlike the previous Smart Keyboard Folio, the Magic Keyboard also adds a floating cantilevered design for viewing angles, a backlit keyboard with scissor-switch keys, and trackpad.

Also, there are still lighter alternatives if  a user is looking for an iPad and keyboard/trackpad pair, and if the user is willing to forgo the iPad Pro. Logitech’s iPad keyboard case available with the trackpad which costs half as much like Apple’s at $149.95, and it works on the cheaper iPad Air and iPad models. The mixed weight of a regular iPad and Logitech’s case comes in at 2.49 pounds, but the user is obviously losing the bigger screen size from the 12.9-inch display on the iPad Pro.
